Don't hate me because I am beautiful!  I am 20 lbs of crazy fun, maybe have some Mini American Eskimo or Pomeranian bloodlines.  I am getting a makeover on Wednesday and then I will be ready for my public.  My photographer is jetting in on Thursday to take new headshots, then I will have my people post them on this website thing!  I like fetch, running and playing with my fido friends and I give the best hugs; I will hang on to you forever.  Oh and the best thing is that when I run, I look like a real live princess with my hair flowing whilst I daintily prance through the meadow.  KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ME!!!

This is how we play hide and seek on the farm! 

I am big, sweet, and very skinny.  Too skinny for such a big guy, but you see I am not neutered so I have been making my rounds, visiting my lady friends all over the peace country.  It's no wonder why I showed up at a house with 2 unspayed females!!  The girly dogs here at PARS don't appreciate my antics tho because they are all spayed and are kindly teaching me that it's more fun just to play and wrestle.  PLEASE spay and neuter your pets!! Oh yeah, come adopt me I rill rove rou forever!

Where oh where have all the puppies gone.  Well you see times are hard, and space

is short PARS is way past maximum capacity and they are now refusing dogs.

So when I showed up at the pound and PARS had no room for me,

the cry went out to all rescue groups from here to Calgary to transfer

dogs.  But most rescue shelters are completely full as well , and the most likely

to be adopted are the puppies.  With all the cute fuzz and years ahead of them

you can't blame them.  Sadly that still that left an old boy like me sitting at the pound

with no future and little hope.  When another society came forward and said

they would take puppies, the decision was made that PARS would move the

highly adoptable puppies to other rescue's and make room for a guy like me. 

I am very greatful. I'm (old as dirt) about 12ish years, male, yellow lab,

I am a happy guy that was thrilled to walk out of the pound.  PARS couldn't

imagine leaving a fella like me behind, to have the end of my story to be confined to

the pound then put to death, because no one wanted me anymore. 

So I hope when you scroll the endless pages of PARS adoptable pets,

PARS doesn't get the reputation that they have no puppies, but

they get  the reputation that they sent the cute and fuzzy puppies to places where

they can be easily adopted and PARS took the time to give a guy like me a better

ending to my story.  If you agree with PARS please consider adopting an older dog

or perhaps supporting our e-bay fundrasier to raise funds for guys like me.

Pinky the man here, I am about 4 years old and I have no idea why they call me

Pinky, they just do.  I seem to be a Old English Sheep dog mix.  I am a lovely boy.

I get along well with kids, people, dogs, haven't met the cats.  I love to play, and have

good manners except on a leash I then would prefer to drag you every where. I

like water and have great recall. More on me soon.

Yatzee here, 7 month old, male, black lab cross. I am a real sweety, I love to play

fetch, I get along well with everyone. I am a happy guy that loves people, dogs, cats,

and kids.  I like to vocalize a bit yowling and barking but NOT annoyingly so just

enough that you know I am here and what my opinion is.

with most other dogs. I love my person and listen very well. I am totally house

trained, and have great manners. I am great on and off leash.

Hello, I am Violet, I am cute girl that loves people and other dogs, I am quite shy at first, but warm up quickly, I am about a 8 month old, female.  I love kids, cats, and pretty much everything, I approach everythingon my belly, and give kisses . I will be medium in size.

Well I am quite the character, I have many nick names, Squirmin' Vermin', Crazy Pants, Wiggles, but Shrek seemed to stick. I am a larger, yorki terrier type guy about 16 to 20lbs full grown.  I rarely sit still, I love to run, jump, chase run, squirm, jump, run.. I am great with dogs, kids love to play with me as long as they don't have to hold me, the running and chasing is great, the catching and grabbing...totally different story.. I am a 9 month old, male, small dog with a wild streak of madness all wrapped up in fluffy cuteness.

Hi, what can I say I am a the sweetest little tiny, baby, cutey wooty, little wee lover dover, little girl... yeah right!! do those even exist? I am a female 2 year old, happy girl, pug cross with something thick furred????. I am great with kids, dogs, and cats, I love to play, and run, and have occasionally been accused of rolling in something un-pleasant smelling.  I am house trained, and I am working on my leash manners.

 PARS didn't give up on me and I am so glad.  The infection from wounds on my face was so bad that I required immediate surgery.

8 year old, male, large, Shepherd cross. I love everything, Like really LOVE it, I am sweet and gentle and can not get enough lovin's. house trained and I think a leash is a torture device that was invented to hurt me (this may take some time to adjust), but if you just walk and I'll follow.

Dax the doxie x, male, 1 -1.5 ish - aside from dachshund there may be a little bit of beagle too, med energy, smaller-med size, happy little dude, likes to be close to his person, good with older kids and bigger dogs.  He does know basic commands and is pretty good on and off leash!  Dax is the bigger of the black and tans in the last picture.

I am Homer, a 2 year old male Lhasa Apso terrier dude. I have had a hard life, it took a very kind and patient lady over 9 months to live trap me in the community I was living in, I am very afraid of being touched by people, however don't feel too sorry for me, you see my foster mom says, I am extremely smart and I love other dogs, I am great off leash and even come when called; its the actual setting your hands on me I avoid, open the door I run right in. I love cats, and I am house trained I just don't like to cuddle, you should also keep in mind my foster mom calls me her "dirty, wild, little man" if you think I could be the crazy you need in you life give us a call. Ps my buddy Don in the last picture was transferred to SCARS and is already adopted :)...

Hello, female girly girl, here, I am about 6 months old, sweet and friendly, I love everyone and everything, more on me soon.

Male Lab cross about, 7 months old, and happy.  I came to PARS with a badly embedded collar; just in the nick of time it was removed, and I am healing nicely. I love to play and hang out with my person, I'm great with kids, cats and dogs.

I am Kia a female, terrier mix, 2 years old, fun and happy, I am great with kids, and other dogs, I could use a little work with my kitty skills but really I am a great girl that is eager to please.

I am a big, 2 year old dominant girl.  I like to chase cats and follow kids, I am after all part border collie so I need a job.  I could be your swimming partner or you could teach me some cool tricks.  I am very smart and lower on the energy scale.  I love cuddles and smoochies and play well with most dogs.

Mary is as sweet as they come; great with dogs, cats and kids.  Most likely a 2 year old Australian Shep. possibly crossed with Catahoula Leopard (which is becoming quite common in our area now due to a few irresponsible owners).  She loves toys of any kind and is more than happy to create one out of water bottles, shoes, lumps of dirt, food bowls, gloves, pliers, etc.  When she was spayed; it was discovered that her organs are covered with scar tissue, most likely from being run over by a vehicle and having been left to heal on her own.  She has very little control of her bladder and bowels, and her hind end must be kept clean and shaved. She is of course an outdoor dog so you must have a heated dog house for her in the winter.  We don't anticipate any changes in her medical situation except for possible arthritis in her later years.  She is very happy and loves to be with people, run, play with her "toy" and of course eat treats!!  She is very special to us at PARS and can only be adopted by people as wonderful as she is!

I am Jack Black, a 4-5 year old, male, lab-cross.  My sister Sienna and I got dumped in the middle of nowhere and were on our own for years and turned feral, we also had missing, rotten and broken teeth.  Due to our fear of people, it took a long time to catch us.  We are making improvements everyday and starting to trust people more and more.  I'm quite a compact, lean little guy.

Update: I now love fetch, treats and most people.  Sienna is getting a lot better too!

Can you say, "gorgeous girl"? Can you say, "cute doggy gets a treat"? Can you say, "lets go for a car ride"? Aw, what a good human, good human.  You can take me home.

I am Justice, I like to pick my own friends and a spot of the couch.  I like to tell everyone what to do but I mean look at me, obviously they should listen to me.  I am a great girl that has good doggy social skills.  I need a little more work on my people manners, but hey.  I am a 1-year-old female, bull-terrier cross of some sort.  I'm good with dogs and kids, but I have not yet met the cats.

We came to PARS as stray dogs, although we have excellent manners and we were in good shape!!  None-the-less, here we sit and we're up for adoption.  We are sisters and although we love one another we are great apart.   We are large, 1-year-old, female, Mastiff / Lab crosses (most likely).  We are great with people, kids, other dogs, and cats.  After some expert vet care, it appear Bongo has an enlarged heart, she is still a happy active girl and this usually does not result in any extra medical costs, but she should have her exercise monitored somewhat, and shouldn't be overly stressed out, if you could find it in your heart to have one of these girls join your family, we are sure you would all be happy.

Hello, I came to the pound as a stray and even though I had a collar and was in great condition; no one claimed me so there I sat.  I joined the pack at PARS who's other members share much of the same story.  I am a large, fun-lovin', happy guy.  I get along well with kids, cats, and dogs. I am sweet, playful and I love my girlfriend Rose.  I'm a 2-year-old male, Collie / Husky cross.

A good-lookin' Lady here.  I am a heeler-cross, and pay close attention as I am related to some of the other dogs at PARS.  You see my first owner had a male dog and female dog (that's me!) which resulted in many litters of puppies.  How many we don't know, but I am only 3-years-old.  However, Matty and Rory are two of my daughters from my litter last years while Aeda, Amy, and Cara are some from this year.  And I hear that my daughter Rory had puppies which was rather surprising to EVERYONE, so I am a grandma too!  So the news on me: I am done having babies; I am all fixed and ready for a new home.  I am loyal and house trained and I love cats as well as people.  I would do best as an only dog because I really don't like to share my attention.  I listen great and have wonderful recall.  I am only 35lbs.

Hi, I'm Kelty, an 18-month-old Lab cross.  I am house trained, good with people, other dogs, kids, but have not yet met the cats.  For some weird reason my tail was docked before I arrived at PARS, but then I won't clear off the coffee table when I wag because I am always happy and waggin' my tail-nub. I have great manners and started obedience training.  I am less than knee high so I could fit any where; I think the couch or your bed would be great but these are negotiable.

I got the name Howdy Doody from the way I'd come out to play.  I am a very happy 1-year-old boy and I love everybody and everything I meet.  I am great greeter, my foster mom says, because I seem to know just what to do: If the person or pet I am meeting acts tough, I just lay back and say, "that's okay."  If they act shy I like to go slow and take my time, and if they want to be friends instantly and start to play with me (these are my favourite types), then I'm all-in.  I'm great with everything, and love those kid-characters.  I am learning leash manners, although I find it strange as I would just follow you anyway, but hey I'm Howdy, that's how I roll.

Adimo is a giant manly-man; he's a male Akita, weighing in at about 110 lbs.  His good looks and kind personality go a long way.  Adimo loves to play and is great with other dogs.  He tends to do better with females than other males, but that's pretty typical of older dudes.  He is great with cats and perfectly house trained.  Adimo is about 8-years-old and after he goes for a quick dental surgery, he will be ready to go to a new home.  PARS covers all medical expenses for the PARS pet to ensure they are healthy and safe going to a new home.

Though I am a kind girl, I like to be the boss with the other dogs.  If I can, I will but if I can't, I don't mind so much.I am about a year and a half old Lab / Heeler cross.  I love my people and am good with cats, kids, and most other dogs.  Rory and I are sisters and my mom is Lady.
